Duties
* You will learn and perform the proper use of tools.
* You will read blueprint sketches and technical manuals.
* You will assemble, install, maintain, and repair piping systems of submarines.
* You will trouble shoot, repair, adjust and install tank level indicators.
* You will prepare equipment/components for subsequent installation aboard submarines. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to maintain an IT-II designation. * Ability to apply knowledge of technical practices related to piping repair and installation.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and technical specifications to perform assigned work.
* Ability to demonstrate knowledge of equipment, components, and materials associated with pipe fitting operations.
* Ability to fabricate piping system assemblies by cutting, bending, brazing, and beveling.
* Ability to prepare equipment and components for subsequent installation. WG-08
* Ability to assist journey-level pipe fitters with the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
* Ability to learn the proper use of tools and shop equipment associated with the pipe fitting trade.
* Ability to use a variety of pipe fitting tools, including grinders, brazing torches, measuring tools, and hydraulic pipe benders under supervision.
* Ability to assist journey-level pipe fitters in troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and installing tank level indicators. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:
