For every child, the right to Child Protection How can you make a difference?

The consultancy aims to strengthen the competencies of child psychologists through advanced training and professional supervision. The consultant will:

  • Deliver training on prevention of adolescent substance use and other risk behaviours.
  • Deliver training on evidence-based psychological interventions for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
  • Provide external professional supervision for complex child protection and mental health cases.

The consultancy will be delivered in hybrid mode, including two one-week missions to Sukhumi
. Applicants should submit an all-inclusive fee covering professional fees, travel and accommodation costs

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...

  • Education:

    Master`s in in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, psychiatry or other related field.
  • Work Experience:
  • At least 8 years of practical experience in the direct provision of psychological support to children, including the rehabilitation of child victims of violence; at least 3 years of experience providing professional supervision to psychologists;
  • Proven experience in providing training in the above field;
  • Language Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of English is mandatory for internal communication and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Russian is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge/Expertise/

    Skills:
  • Deep understanding of UNICEF approaches and recommendations in the field of child protection and psycho-social support of children; experience of work with UNICEF will be an asset;

Previous professional experience in the CEE/CIS region and familiarity with regional child protection, mental health, and social service systems are considered assets.
