Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: Ten years of successful Coaching Experience
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Responsible for supervising multiple functions with a high-level accountability for effective operation and results. Requires excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Primary Function: Supports the Athletic Director in overseeing the operation of Habersham County's athletic programs. The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for seeing that high standards of professionalism, communication, and organization are maintained within the department.
Responsibilities- Assist the Athletic Director in planning, organizing, and supervising all athletic programs.
- Helps ensure compliance with district, state, and athletic association rules (e.g., state high school athletic association).
- To assist Athletic Director with onboarding of new coaches, contracts, fingerprints, First Aid/CPR, and ongoing compliance and certification requirements for all coaches.
- Serve as Athletic Director in the AD's absence
- Assist with scheduling contests, practices, transportation, and officials
- Coordinate use and maintenance of athletic facilities as well as work with custodial staff on facility preparation and cleanup
- Assist Athletic Director in organizing and supervising the gates, parking, seating, crowd control when asked by the Athletic Director.
- Attend home and away contests as necessary and/or when needed.
- Communicate expectations, policies, and procedures to coaching staff
- Address coaching concerns and support conflict resolution while ensuring student athletes meet academic eligibility and participation requirements and demonstrate positive behavior
- Help implement emergency action plans for athletic events and practices
- Support fundraising activities and booster organizations
- Serve as a liaison among parents, students, coaches, and administrators by addressing concerns, complaints, and inquiries in a professional manner
- Help promote athletic programs through announcements, websites, and social media
- To assist in supervising and evaluating all coaches and other personnel involved in the athletic program at all levels.
- Perform all duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Administration
- Work as a liaison between the Athletic Director and the building level Administrators
