Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Greensboro, GA. Pay is an average of $1665 per week with additional compensation for miles, stops, and per diem. The role provides weekly pay, paid training, and a Monday–Friday schedule with start times between 3:00 and 5:00 am.
Schedule & Pay Breakdown:
- Driver Positions Pay:
Weekly - Solo Miles Pay: $0.72 per mile with 1970 miles per week
- Solo Stops Pay: $32.50 per stop with 3 stops per week
- Per Diem Pay: $50.00 per layover, 1–3 nights per week
- Paid Training
- Schedule:
Monday‑Friday - Start Time: 3:00 AM – 5:00 AM
Drive solo to GA, FL, AL, NC, SC, TN and VA. Route involves regional nights out 1‑3 times per week on sleeper tractors with flatbed trailers. Equipment includes manual and electric pallet jack. Freight operations include load securement, tarping and strapping. Trains and maintains all equipment. Trucks are 36 months or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Must have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
- Load and unload freight or assist in loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
