- Local drivers start at $25.00 – $30.00 an hour (based on experience)

- Drive semi‑tractor/trailers for up to 11 hours after 10 hours off‑duty on runs of up to one week or more; perform pick‑and‑dump locally
- Back trailers to customer dock
- Maintain compliance with federal and state safety regulations and exhibit safe, professional driving behavior
- Communicate with customer representatives in a pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner
- Communicate and coordinate with dispatchers
- Comply with all DOT requirements, including drug and alcohol testing
- Secure cargo and properly arrange and balance it within the vehicle
- Ensure any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- Swing and secure trailer doors
- Perform other duties as required
- CDL A License Required
- Minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years (3+ years preferred)
- Meets DOT qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41
- Experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions
- Exceptional customer‑service skills and the ability to handle sensitive cargo with care
- Detail‑oriented mindset required
- Must have a TWIC or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days, if required
The role requires extended periods of sitting while operating a commercial vehicle, use of hands and fingers to operate steering wheel, controls, GPS, and other equipment, and the ability to reach with hands and arms, climb in and out of the cab and trailer, and occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch during inspections, coupling/uncoupling, or loading/unloading activities. The driver must communicate effectively using verbal and hearing skills, often via CB radio or mobile devices.
Vision requirements include the ability to see at a distance for safe driving and close vision for reading documents and performing inspections.
While performing duties, the driver may be exposed to diesel fumes, airborne particles, and occasionally harsh weather conditions while loading or unloading. The work environment includes time spent inside the truck cab—often extended sitting periods with engine noise and vibration—and outside at customer sites, terminals, or on public roadways. Noise levels vary from quiet inside the cab to moderate or loud at delivery or pick‑up locations.
