Location: Mulberry, FL
Pay: $21.00 per hour
Employment: Full-Time
Road & Rail Services is hiring a reliable, safety-minded Switchman/Conductor to join our Mulberry, Florida, operation. In this hands-on role, you will help move, organize, and position railcars safely within an industrial rail yard while coordinating with locomotive operators and fellow crew members.
Railroad experience is a plus, but it is not required. We provide practical, on-the-job training to dependable candidates who are eager to learn. Experience in construction, manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, warehousing, or other physically demanding outdoor work may help you succeed in this position.
What You'll Do- Support switching operations and the safe movement and placement of railcars
- Coordinate with locomotive operators and other crew members through radio communication and hand signals
- Check railcars, tracks, and switches for hazards, damage, or operating concerns
- Operate track switches and climb railcars during daily assignments
- Walk extended distances across uneven ground
- Perform duties outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Follow all safety rules, operating procedures, and company policies
- A valid driver's license and dependable transportation
- Ability to work safely outdoors in all types of weather
- Physical ability to walk, climb, bend, lift, and complete other demanding tasks
- Excellent attendance and a strong work ethic
- A safety-first attitude and the ability to work effectively with a crew
- Availability for a rotating swing schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
At Road & Rail Services, this position can be the beginning of a long-term railroad career. Many of our supervisors and crew leaders began in entry-level rail roles before advancing through hands-on experience and company training.
