The Mosaic, Jekyll Island Museum, is hiring seasonal Trolley Drivers to provide safe and timely transportation for school groups, motor coach groups, and the public. Drivers will support seasonal programming, including Gilded Age Ghosts & Ghouls tours and Holly Jolly Jekyll light tours. Under general supervision, the Trolley Driver operates trolleys during evening and night tours, ensures the narration system is functioning properly, prioritises guest safety, and provides basic security for tour homes and museum collection objects.

Drivers may also provide brief historical introductions or answer general visitor questions to enhance the guest experience and assist with seasonal decorating tasks. The role requires professional, courteous guest interaction. Positions are anticipated to continue through early January.

• Safely drives vehicles towing multiple trolley cars for seasonal evening and night tours within the Jekyll Island Club National Historic Landmark.
• Follows all applicable motor vehicle laws and regulations as mandated by the State of Georgia and JIA operational procedures.
• Ensures the narration system is fully functional
• Strictly adheres to the established tour schedule, arriving at and departing from each tour landmark and tour stop on time.
• Escorts guests to and from trolleys and into designated tour buildings as needed.
• Provides light interpretation during tours, such as brief pre-scripted information or general historical context related to tour stops.
• Provides security for museum properties and collections and ensures guest safety during tours.
• Assists with seasonal decorating of trolleys and associated tour areas.
• Performs light custodial duties as needed to maintain clean and safe work areas, including trolley cars, waiting areas, and historic buildings as needed.
• Assists with ticket redemption or other guest service functions as assigned.
• Participates in mandatory staff development and safety training.
• Maintains a cooperative and professional relationship with employees, volunteers, and guests of Jekyll Island.
• Works evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate trolleys, golf carts, and/or similar vehicles safely in areas with dense pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate courteously and effectively with diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Must have flexible schedule with availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled work shifts is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required for tasks that involve travel between JIA-operated locations while on duty, whether using a state-issued or personal vehicle. All drivers must comply with Georgia state laws.
• Employment is contingent upon successfully passing criminal and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks.

• Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects such as trolley components, stanchions, or other equipment.
• More than 50% of the typical workday may be spent sitting while operating a motor vehicle, standing, walking indoors and outdoors on concrete and/or uneven terrain, standing, and reaching or handling objects.
• Between 25% and 50% of the typical workday may be spent climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, or performing repetitive wrist, hand,…
