Position: Product Development Engineer

Do you enjoy working in a dynamic learning environment? Are you interested in joining a team of innovative engineers working for the leading global supplier of injection molding equipment for the plastic industry? If you answered yes, this role is for you.

Our Development Engineering team is looking to hire an experienced Product Development Engineer. The successful candidate will lead the technical development of Hot Runner products and subsequent launch into our manufacturing operations.

• Generate and evaluate mechanical concepts satisfying sub-system functions, objectives, and constraints
• Work independently and as part of a team to evaluate and develop new technologies for hot runner product and manufacturing advancements
• Conduct and review engineering analysis during the design process (Stress, Thermal, Flow, Lab and Physical testing)
• Design of test models and test cells for verification and validation of design concepts
• Evaluate product performance through testing with development lab and possible customer site tests
• Create, implement and manage development project plans & budgets from start to finish including definition, concepting, prototyping, testing and final product implementation phases. Support business commercialization phases
• Contribute to the formulation and/or evaluation of business cases for specific projects
• Organize and analyze data using statistical tools
• Project communication throughout the various phases is vital

• 5-7 years design experience developing new technology
• CAD proficiency (Unigraphics preferred)
• Strong background and knowledge in mechanical design and stress analysis, fluid dynamics and heat transfer
• Data analytics
• GD&T
• Metrology, tooling practices and a broad manufacturing knowledge is helpful
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook
• Confident, self-starter with good communication skills, both written and oral
• Tenacious problem solving and troubleshooting a must

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.A.Sc. and/or M.Sc.)
