The Director of Procurement plays a key leadership role in managing the city’s purchasing functions, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, and driving efficiency in contract administration, vendor management, and sourcing strategies. By implementing best practices in procurement, the Director will help Augusta maximize value, reduce costs, and maintain integrity in public purchasing.

Augusta, Georgia Government is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead and oversee the city’s procurement operations. This position is responsible for managing the city’s purchasing policies, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement laws, and developing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize purchasing efficiency. Reporting to city leadership, the Director will provide guidance on procurement strategy, oversee vendor negotiations, and implement process improvements to enhance procurement operations.

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field. Additionally, candidates must have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing procurement operations within a large-scale public sector organization and at least ten (10) years of experience in the field.
