POSITION DESCRIPTION
WAREHOUSE CLERK
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
To provide an efficient and effective warehousing and receiving system for all materials and supplies required by the Cooperative for line construction, maintenance, and other functions; to work and communicate in a team oriented environment in accordance with the vision, mission and values of the Cooperative.

Education: Require High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer education beyond high school with emphasis in warehousing, supply chain, or related field. Require ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on an intermittent basis. Require forklift certification within first 6 months.
Experience: As this is an entry-level position, a minimum experience requirement is not specified. Prefer experience in work related to the requirements of the position, including receiving, storing, and issuing material with related clerical work of inventory and control.
Knowledge: Require a working knowledge of, or the basic knowledge to learn to apply the principles related to, the duties of the position, including receiving and issuing materials and supplies, determining the materials required to make up construction units, keeping inventory records, compiling reports, and maintaining neat and orderly storage of materials and supplies. Requires willingness to pursue a continuous program of self-development both inside and outside of work hours in furthering his/her knowledge to develop in the job and accept increasing responsibilities.
SkillsRequire effective leadership skills, excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work in a team environment. Require the ability to perform neat and accurate clerical work required by the duties of the position and according to schedules. Require the ability to meet and effectively communicate with member-consumers, sales representatives, the general public, and employees so as to stimulate good will and effective relations.
Require the ability to organize work and make recommendations for the establishment of an effective warehousing system, including storage and control procedures. Require the ability to follow work procedures and schedules, interpret verbal and written instructions, maintain harmony among workers, and reason and make sound judgments.

Actively participates within the Cooperative team environment to develop supportive relationships essential to the success of the functions of this position, achieving the results expected and encouraging throughout the organization the concepts of teamwork and cooperative spirit.
External:
Develops and maintains supportive relationships with member/consumers, the general public, and other external contacts to assure positive results. This position is primarily medium work; requires visual acuity as a mobile equipment operator; requires ability to hear, talk, grasp, lift, walk, stand, and reach; and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
