Position OverviewThis position is a critical support role for the Warehouse Team. As an Inventory Control Clerk, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring efficient operations, and upholding inventory accuracy within the organization. Your responsibilities will include performing cycle counts, checking in drivers, managing inventory returns, and maintaining dock cleanliness and security. You will collaborate with the Inventory Control Supervisor to resolve discrepancies and conduct daily PO audits for inventory accuracy.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment are crucial for success in this role.
- Performs cycle counts of merchandise or supplies in stock and posts total to inventory records, either manually or electronically.
- Checks in drivers as they arrive to ensure paperwork and product match.
- Works with inventory returns and directs drivers for proper placement of product.
- Ensures the dock area is clear and clean and ensures that the dock area is secure.
- Follows and maintains cycle count schedule, bin audits, and RC18 (product not on truck).
- Assists in researching and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Researches negative inventory values.
- Researches inventory discrepancies with the assistance of IC Lead completing product return put‑aways.
- Assists with recouping damages and coordinating donations.
- Conducts PO audits daily.
- Performs additional duties, including assigning new pick locations, duplicate pick bins, bread inventory, researching and correcting invalid pallet IDs, and inventory requests from K12 Solutions and buyers.
- Monitors inventory for proper rotation using FIFO/FEFO to minimize spoilage and shrink.
- Verifies accuracy of inbound and outbound shipments against purchase orders and invoices by doing audits.
- Inspects incoming products for quality, temperature compliance, and labeling standards.
- Ensures proper storage of goods in dry, refrigerated, and frozen environments.
- Supports recall processes by identifying and isolating affected inventory quickly and accurately.
- Generates reports on inventory variances, stock levels, and product movement.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and food‑safe warehouse environment.
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures while operating in a fast‑paced environment.
- Removes and documents damaged, expired, or contaminated products according to company procedures.
- Assists other departments as needed.
- Must be open to work overtime when needed.
- Willing and able to learn new procedures and adapt to change.
- Ability to operate multiple MHE: forklift, order picker, pallet jack.
- Ability to self‑manage daily work.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to work in extreme cold environments for prolonged periods of time (cold‑weather gear provided by company).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to multi‑task, while planning the time, method, manner and/or performance sequence of own work.
- Strong math skills.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability and willingness to complete some moderately repetitive tasks.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2 years prior experience in warehousing inventory with administration skills.
Hourly Pay$19.00/hour
Working Conditions and Physical DemandsIndoor/cooler office environment. Indoor environment exposure to room temperature, freezer temperature, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
