Position:
Records Clerk/Cashier
This classification level performs clerical work under immediate supervision in a county court under the supervision of a clerk magistrate, a clerk of court, or a division manager.
- Perform clerical functions in assigned service areas such as criminal/traffic, civil/small claims, or probate, guardian conservator, and adoption by responding to routine inquiries.
- Verify files and information for missing details, accuracy, and distribute to appropriate staff for correction.
- Prepare and process motions.
- Compile and maintain records by sorting, filing, and scanning files and related documents.
- Data entry, receive fees/fines and other payments, and perform general office duties.
Additional duties:
- Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties. - Knowledge:
Customer service principles; computers and related software; criminal coding concepts; federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; office procedures; data entry techniques; criminal history information. - Skill:
Providing customer service; maintaining records; performing data entry; operating standard office equipment; using computers and related software; reviewing reports for accuracy; communication and interpersonal skills. - Physical:
Primarily sedentary work, with occasional light physical effort not to exceed
20lb.
