Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Gering, Nebraska
Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), supporting students across multiple districts through an Education Cooperative near Gering, NE. This contract role offers the chance to make a lasting difference for children with visual impairments. With a 1.4 FTE position for the 26/27 school year, you'll collaborate with special education professionals and engage in meaningful work from August 17, 2026.

Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
  • Previous experience working with students who are visually impaired is preferred
  • Solid understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive teaching methods
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to work across a variety of educational settings and grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in up to 15 partner districts
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored for visually impaired students
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and district staff to adapt curriculum and materials
  • Assess student progress and recommend appropriate accommodations and technologies
  • Offer consultation and training to teachers, staff, and families on best practices for supporting students with visual impairments
  • Travel between school sites within the collaborative as needed
