VP Finance & Accounting

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a project-based services organization to identify a VP of Finance & Accounting to join their leadership team.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity reporting directly to the CFO and serving as the number two finance leader within the organization. The role offers the opportunity to partner closely with executive leadership, help strengthen and scale the finance function, and support the organization's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the finance and accounting function, including financial reporting, month-end close, audit, tax, and internal controls.
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and organizational growth.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Drive process improvements while helping build scalable finance and accounting operations.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting and finance team.

Ideal Background:

• Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Experience leading finance and accounting functions while partnering closely with executive leadership.
• Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to operate in a fast‑paced, evolving organization.
• Experience with in a private equity-backed, acquisitive, or other high‑growth environment is a plus.
