Property Accountant

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant. This role will play a key part in supporting the financial operations of a portfolio of properties and ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in property accounting and experience working with Yardi or similar ERP systems.

• Perform
  general ledger reconciliations
  and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Prepare and analyze
  monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Conduct
  bank reconciliations
  and investigate discrepancies
• Support
  CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and compliance
• Analyze financial results and provide
  variance analysis
• Assist with
  budget preparation and forecasting
• Review and perform
  lease abstraction
• Help resolve
  accounts payable discrepancies
  in a timely manner
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and reporting compliance

• Bachelor’s degree in
  Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  (required)
• 3+ years of property accounting experience
• Experience with
  Yardi
  strongly preferred
• Experience with
  MRI, Rent Manager, or similar ERP systems
  will also be considered
• Strong knowledge of
  GAAP
  and financial reporting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
