Main Purpose of JobThe Administrative Specialist III Supervisor will serve as the lead fiscal, budgetary, and administrative officer for the Air Quality Permits Program. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for independently ensuring that all fiscal, budgetary, and administrative duties related to the everyday operation of the Air Quality Permits Program are accomplished in an efficient, effective, and timely manner. The incumbent will perform these activities in order to directly support the agency’s mission to improve and maintain air quality in order to protect the health and welfare of the people and environment of Maryland, while providing for enhanced community service and economic development.

Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
- Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications

- Six months of experience using office software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Teams) and/or Google Suite (Chrome, GMail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Meet).
- Six months of experience using databases performing data entry and researching and recovering information.
- Six months of experience composing and sending correspondence to customers via e-mail and hard copy mail.
- Six months of experience preparing requisitions and making payments and/or making training and travel arrangements for staff.
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
