WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Services Division, is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic professional who has a desire to serve the community and upholds a commitment to public service. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude, displays cultural awareness, an openness to learning, and adaptability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outcomes across the following focus areas:

Application Intake
  • Perform data entry of applications and documentation into the EICM database and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Review client eligibility/demographics in EICM and EVS.
  • Complete urgent referrals for supervisor review.
  • Update excel spreadsheets and perform data entry for clients eligible for MPP services.
Administrative Tasks
  • Answer incoming phone calls, retrieve voice mail messages and return phone calls to customers, providing accurate program information and/or referrals.
  • Respond to client/community partner requests in HSS email.
  • Open, sort, screen, prioritize, and route incoming mail and faxes in a timely manner.
  • Organize office supplies and forms, monitor appropriate supply, and compile supply order requests.
  • Assemble and prepare materials for distribution.
  • File, fax, and photocopy materials, as needed.
Office Support
  • Serve as initial communicating contact for HSS unit reception area, assist general public, answer routine questions, provide program information, and provide administrative support to the clerical staff and supervisor.
Education

Graduation from high school or High School Certification of Completion recognized in the State of Maryland.

Experience

Two (2) years of progressively responsible office support experience.

Equivalency

An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted.

The application of those individuals meeting the minimum qualifications will be reviewed to determine the extent, relevance of training, and experience in the following areas:
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Experience with eICM (Electronic Integrated Case Management) systems or similar case management, electronic health records system.
  • Knowledge and experience of referring clients to community resources & services available through public/private agencies.
