MARINE SUPERINTENDENT

The Marine Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating day-to-day marine construction operations at the jobsite, including personnel, subcontractors, equipment, material deliveries, production, quality control, documentation, and safety. The Marine Superintendent ensures construction activities are performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and company safety policies.

• Oversee all aspects of construction projects from planning through implementation.
• Manage material deliveries, including barge and truck deliveries.
• Understand and implement day-to-day construction operations in marine environments involving floating equipment.
• Safely coordinate the movement and positioning of barges and tugs on the jobsite.
• Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors.
• Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, government representatives, and clients.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
• Plan, track, and report daily production quantities and maintain construction logs.
• Maintain and update daily field reports using designated field reporting software.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of field documents and reports.
• Facilitate toolbox talks as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to site safety standards and document safety discrepancies, when necessary.
• Comply with and promote company safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, and applicable quality control requirements.
• Assist with contractor surveying and coordinate with subcontractor surveyors.
• Learn and utilize the fundamentals of GPS-aided earthmoving software to assist in optimizing project performance.
• Maintain onsite inventory of construction materials.
• Track and prepare documentation related to production, schedule, quality, and cost.
• Track project costs and compile time-and-material work records.
• Code daily labor and file productivity information accurately and timely.
• Perform other duties as assigned related to the successful completion of marine construction projects.

• Experience in marine construction or a related construction field.
• Knowledge of marine construction operations and floating equipment.
• Ability to safely coordinate marine equipment, including barges and tugs.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project personnel, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, government representatives, and clients.
• Ability to maintain accurate construction records, reports, and documentation.
• Ability to understand and follow company and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in an outdoor marine construction environment.

• Ability to work on active marine construction jobsites and around floating construction equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and navigate uneven or potentially hazardous jobsite conditions.
• Ability to safely perform work around construction equipment, barges, vessels, and other marine operations.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to work the hours necessary to support project requirements, including occasional extended hours, weekends, or other non-standard work hours as required by project conditions.
