Position Summary

Full‑time tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance. Join a dynamic department dedicated to teaching, scholarship, student mentorship, and community engagement.

$90,000–$120,000

• Teach undergraduate finance courses (e.g., Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Education, Analytics/Strategy, Financial Markets & Institutions, International Finance, Financial Management).
• Deliver instruction in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities.
• Advise, tutor, and mentor students to promote academic progress, internships, and career development.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program accreditation, and assurance‑of‑learning activities.

• Conduct and publish high‑quality research in peer‑reviewed academic journals consistent with AACSB qualifications and tenure‑track requirements.
• Present research at professional conferences and participate in collaborative scholarly initiatives.
• Associate‑level applicants must demonstrate a record of high‑impact research and disciplinary visibility.

• Actively participate in departmental, school, and university committees.
• Provide service to the academic profession and engage in community and industry outreach.
• Contribute to recruitment, retention, and student engagement activities aligned with accreditation standards and the university’s HBCU mission.

• Ph.D. in Finance or a related field from an AACSB‑accredited institution.
• Evidence of strong research potential or productivity.
• Demonstrated effective teaching and oral communication skills.

• Ability to teach finance courses in various instructional formats.
• Active scholarly pipeline with manuscripts under review or accepted.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Corporate or non‑academic financial industry experience.
• Professional certifications such as CFA or CFP, or relevant industry experience.
• Experience mentoring students or supporting experiential learning.
• For Associate rank: demonstrated potential to pursue or secure external research funding.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport with students, supported by teaching evaluations or recognition of teaching excellence.

• Extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, or sitting at a desk.
• May require lifting.
• Requires communication with various constituents internally and externally.
• Requires operation of standard office equipment.
