The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance.

Job Summary

This is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Manufacturing Engineering team and gain hands‑on systems integration experience by building assemblies, setting up tools/workstations, working with engineering, manufacturing, and quality on part and drawing issues, and contributing process improvements while observing integration and test activities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • May be required to help in research in a particular field
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Rising senior, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Familiarity with line balancing, time studies, and MTM methodologies is preferred
  • Familiarity with World Class Manufacturing, Toyota Production System and Lean practices is preferred
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn

The salary for this position is $24/hour. This reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to:
Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
