Summary
Primary responsibilities include screening, evaluating, diagnosing, and providing appropriate services to students with communication disorders (articulation, voice, language, fluency) that affect educational performance. Consult with teachers and parents and participate in IEP team meetings. Physical demands: as required. Special requirements: attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside instructional day.

QualificationsExperience and certification as a speech pathologist. Master’s or equivalent degree in speech‑language pathology, coursework, and demonstrated knowledge and expertise in communication disorders, including significant evaluation and therapeutic techniques. Experience working cooperatively with related professionals and with parents. Proficiency in oral and written communication and human relations. Certification:
Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) license or eligibility for a provisional license. American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) desirable or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligible.
- Screen, evaluate, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders of students from birth to 21 years of age.
- Develop and implement appropriate goals and objectives for each student and select/utilize therapeutic materials effectively with individuals and small groups.
- Implement consultative programs through classroom teachers and parents; work effectively as a member of the local school or site‑based team.
- Write concise clinical reports, develop IEPs and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and maintain complete longitudinal records for each student.
Masters or equivalence in speech‑language pathology; additional coursework and demonstrated expertise; experience working cooperatively with professionals; excellent communication skills; human relations. Alternate combination of applicable education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills for the position.
