Job Purpose and Summary

As a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, you will support pharmacy operations, assist customers, and maintain quality service across pharmacy workstations.

Responsibilities
  • Support the pharmacy team and contribute to operational and service excellence within the store.
  • Act as the first point of contact to assist patients and customers, delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Provide empathy and genuine care in patient interactions, creating heartfelt moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone.
  • Offer immunizations and other clinical services at the register and over the phone, and demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership, including accurate product placement, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
  • Contribute to a high‑performing team, embracing a growth mindset, welcoming feedback, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to stores in the market as required.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
  • Comply with CVS policies to ensure patient safety, controlled substance dispensing/recordkeeping, and patient privacy and security.
  • Deliver additional patient health‑care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and off‑site clinic staffing) where permissible by law and supported by required training and certification.
  • If authorized, support immunization activities, including additional licensure and training, patient education, adverse reaction monitoring, and vaccine supply management.
Essential Functions
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
  • Concentrate on tasks over extended periods and pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
  • Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
  • Actively provide friendly assistance and respond appropriately to patient reactions.
  • Utilize effective verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues, including active listening.
  • Apply mathematical reasoning to calculate dosage amounts, inventory counts, and other pharmacy calculations.
  • Implement problem‑resolution strategies during challenging interactions to choose the best course of action.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors or managers.
Physical Demands
  • Mobile and upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead and stretch or reach out with arms.
  • Perform repetitive finger tasks, such as picking, pinching, typing.
  • Extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions to place, move, or lift items.
  • Stoop and bend to move between low and high positions.
  • Maintain close visual acuity for activities such as transcribing, computer use, and reading small parts.
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; frequently lift up to 10 lbs; otherwise lift minimally.
  • Express ideas verbally with accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1‑3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.
Anticipated Weekly Hours

20 hours per week (Part‑time)

Pay Range

$16.50 - $25.00 per hour
