Senior Pre-Sales Engineer

Join Echo Star’s Hughes Network Systems division in a customer‑facing engineering role that translates complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.

• Partner with Sales and Sales Engineering teams in customer discovery sessions, technical workshops, and solution demonstrations.
• Provide hands‑on technical expertise during customer engagements and pilot execution phases.
• Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and outcomes clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Engage directly with customers to build confidence and establish technical trust through successful pilot delivery.
• Design, configure, and execute pilots, POCs, and technical evaluations in lab and customer environments.
• Validate solution performance, scalability, interoperability, and readiness for production deployment.
• Translate customer requirements into technical configurations and pilot success criteria.
• Implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network environments, including Enterprise Network design, security, LAN/WAN, routing, and switching.
• Analyze network performance, identify and resolve issues, and optimize configurations based on testing and usage data.
• Document pilot architectures, configurations, test results, and deployment recommendations for transition to production.
• Execute test plans and provide structured analysis to support solution validation.
• Maintain and operate pre‑production lab environments to support testing, demos, and validation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, vendors, and solutions for applicability in customer environments.
• Provide feedback to product and engineering teams on solution performance, gaps, and improvements.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in networking, telecommunications, or related technical roles.

Skills and

Qualifications:

• Experience in customer‑facing technical environments, including pilots, deployments, or solution validation.
• Familiarity with SD‑WAN, SASE, Network security technologies, or Private Wireless technologies preferred.
• Experience working in lab environments, pilot deployments, and multi‑vendor ecosystems.
• Ability to operate effectively in customer‑facing roles, translating technical concepts into clear outcomes and recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex network environments.
• Strong foundation in networking technologies (Enterprise Networking, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs).
