Purchasing Associate

As a Purchasing Associate, you will help ensure the uninterrupted flow of materials and services that support manufacturing and business operations. You will work with suppliers and internal teams to procure quality products at competitive costs, maintain inventory accuracy, support compliance, and contribute to process improvements. This role is a strong fit if you enjoy solving problems, managing details, and building effective supplier relationships.

Responsibilities include executing daily procurement activities, supporting procurement strategies, building and maintaining supplier relationships, evaluating supplier performance, identifying and reducing supplier and supply chain risks, partnering with internal teams, maintaining accurate purchasing records, resolving purchasing issues, tracking and reporting purchasing metrics, supporting continuous improvement, receiving, stocking, organizing, and issuing inventory, participating in cycle counts and physical inventory activities, following quality procedures, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements.

Additional skills and qualifications include demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI generated outputs. Preferred qualifications include experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, medical device industry experience, experience using ERP systems, Ariba, Qlik, or similar procurement and analytics tools, and knowledge of inventory control and supply chain best practices.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Germantown, MD. The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.89/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
