The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that all construction projects meet the highest quality standards. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in construction, with at least two years of experience as a QC Manager. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the requirements of USACE EM 385-1-1, and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
Responsibilities- Complete the course entitled "Construction Quality Management (CQM for Contractors" and maintain a current certificate. The QC Manager that does not have a current certification must obtain the CQM for Contractors course certification. This course is periodically offered by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and the Army Corps of Engineers.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Approve or reject materials and workmanship
- Monitor the progress of projects and identify potential problems early on
- Train and supervise quality control personnel
- Communicate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other stakeholders on quality matters
- Minimum of five years of combined experience in the following positions:
Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager, with at least two years' experience as a QC Manager - Familiarity with the requirements of USACE EM 385-1-1
- Experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in construction management or other related fields
- Familiarity with construction management software
- Strong leadership qualities
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
