The Sales Associate is a full-time, on-site role based at the Fitzgerald Auto Mall location in Germantown, MD. In this role, the Sales Associate supports customers through the entire vehicle sales process, including greeting visitors, assessing needs, presenting vehicle options, and explaining pricing, financing, and warranty programs in a clear and honest manner. Daily tasks include maintaining product knowledge across multiple brands, conducting test drives, preparing sale documentation, and coordinating with finance and service departments to ensure a smooth customer experience.
The Sales Associate also follows up with prospective and existing customers, maintains a clean and organized showroom, and adheres to the Fitz Way philosophy and all dealership policies. Success in this position requires consistent professionalism, strong communication skills, and a focus on building long-term customer relationships.
- Customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to listen, understand needs, and provide clear, helpful guidance.
- Sales, negotiation, and closing skills, including comfort discussing pricing, trade-ins, and financing options in a transparent manner.
- Communication skills in verbal and written formats, with the ability to explain vehicle features, programs, and policies in a straightforward way.
- Basic computer and CRM skills, including the ability to learn dealership systems for inventory, sales documentation, and customer follow-up.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple customers, maintain accurate records, and keep the showroom and lot presentable.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Germantown, MD, including evenings and weekends as required by the dealership schedule.
- Interest in automotive products and willingness to develop strong product knowledge across multiple brands.
- Prior retail or automotive sales experience is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
- High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
