Job SummaryThe Senior Material Handler is responsible for safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the facility. This role involves loading/unloading, inventory support, data entry in ERP systems, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving. The position also supports process improvements, maintains accurate records, and assists in daily operations under general supervision.
Job Responsibilities- Load, unload and move materials within or near plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite.
- Work with the team to improve current system, functions, and daily operations to more effectively meet goals.
- May monitor shipping performance to Delivery Tracking Schedule (DTS) and ensure movement of product from production through packaging to shipping.
- Perform materials analysis and maintain records as required in support of cycle counting operations and performance measurement.
- Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
- Convey materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, forklift, or other device.
- Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system.
- Attach tags or labels to materials or otherwise mark information.
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
- Work under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of experience.
- May require forklift certification.
Expected pay scale: $40,537.00/year - $50,671.00/year. Pay may be modified if the level, location, or scope of the position changes during the hiring process. Leonardo DRS considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations.
