The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for processing payroll, performing general ledger account and bank statement reconciliations, preparing journal entries, processing accounts payable, assisting with state reporting requirements, applying customer payments, and preparing statistical and financial reports.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing; review payroll batches to ensure accuracy of wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions; reconcile payroll, benefits, and payroll tax accounts to the general ledger
  • Lead key aspects of the month-end close process, including account analyses, certain balance sheet roll-forwards, and bank and credit card reconciliations; research and resolve any discrepancies; prepare accrual or other adjusting journal entries
  • Partner with CFO on financial statement preparation and perform preliminary variance analysis
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Coordinate with external auditors by preparing and compiling any requested documentation and schedules
  • Process outgoing payments and ensure accurate application of incoming deposits to invoices
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank deposits and prepare daily cash reports
  • Review accounts receivable aging on a regular basis and collaborate with A/R team members to address overdue accounts, disputed invoices, and any other billing/collection issues
  • Assist with local, state and federal tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Perform ad hoc reporting requests, as well as financial analyses in support of management initiatives or inquiries
  • Attend departmental and company meetings, as required.
  • Attend conferences, seminars, and related educational events to maintain proficient understanding and working knowledge respective to job function and industry.
  • Consistently display integrity, responsibility, accountability, teamwork, and ethics.
  • Perform assigned job duties and responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standard practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Required)
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in a same or similar capacity
  • Experience with Netsuite and Paycor preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular sitting, walking, standing, reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, interpreting data and information, operating office equipment, typing using a computer keyboard, viewing a computer screen monitor, and use of a telephone. The working environment consists of an indoor and climate-controlled setting the majority of the time.
