St. George’s Independent School seeks a passionate, creative and hard-working individual who is energized by work with families to serve as a Learning Services Teacher, beginning August, 2026.

Type: Salary
Duration: Annual letter of agreement
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Previous work with children in an educational setting is required
- Two or more years of teaching experience is preferred
- Support of students with diverse learning needs is preferred
- Independent school experience is preferred
The successful candidate will possess skills and experience that would include the ability to:
- support a program that meets the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative needs of individual students and the community
- collaborate with classroom teachers to plan, implement and monitor instructional strategies that support diverse learners
- support the development and implementation of individualized learning plans
- assist teachers in implementing accommodations that promote student success
- co‑teach and provide consultation on differentiated instruction
- offer small group and individualized help to meet student learning needs while evaluating student learning and progress
- serve as a resource for families regarding accommodations, learning strategies and available support services
- implement consistent, effective limit‑setting discipline for children and create a positive classroom climate
- value and create strong communication and partnership with families
Physical Requirements: Regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and interact with campus visitors as well as others who telephone. Must have the ability to understand and present materials and communicate with constituents and co‑workers in a harmonious manner.
