PositionJob Title: Ultrasound Technologist
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for operating ultrasound and non-invasive vascular equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures. This role ensures the delivery of safe, accurate, and high-quality imaging, and requires excellent technical proficiency, professionalism, and a patient-focused approach.
Responsibilities- Perform ultrasound examinations as outlined in the Radiology/Ultrasound Procedure Guide
- Monitor and assess patient condition, document findings accurately and promptly
- Provide education and guidance to team members and promote collaborative practice
- Ensure optimal image quality by conducting equipment checks and adjustments
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement and maintain accreditation standards (ICAVL, AIUM)
- Operate RIS/PACS systems competently within job scope
- Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure readiness of the imaging environment
- Participate in department meetings and support team communication
- Stay current with continuing education requirements to enhance skills and maintain certification
Education & Experience
- Completion of an educational pathway approved by ARDMS
- Preferred:
Graduate of a CAAHEP or CMA-approved ultrasound/vascular technology program
Licensure & Certification
- Certification and registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular Technology
- Must obtain ARDMS certification within 12 months of hire if not already held
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- Preferred:
Certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

- Proficient in performing diagnostic ultrasound exams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Skilled in managing workflow, tasks, and imaging systems
- Competency in critical thinking, patient care, and documentation
