RN - Med Surg Tele

• Work in medical surgical telemetry unit serving as overflow unit, post-surgical, and observation unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5/6 during days, nights, and weekends
• Unit is transitioning to team nursing with LPNs to assist
• Care for adults and geriatrics with medical oncology, GYN surgery, and med-surg diagnoses
• Daily census of 42 patients with 42 beds and 42 rooms
• On-call shifts as needed and weekend coverage as needed
• Float between like units and campuses within 20 miles when necessary (rare occurrence)
• Must have 2+ years of recent medical surgical experience (3+ years preferable)
• One year of travel experience required - first-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Skills required:
  
  Telemetry monitoring and IV start proficiency
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall during assignment
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility to be considered
• Active RN license in state or compact license required
• ADN acceptable for this position
