Akkodis Technician Position

Akkodis is seeking a technician for a client located at Memphis, TN. This is a 12-month contract position. Pay range: $20 - $27/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Your responsibilities will include:

The Electronic Technician (Electrical Assembler) is responsible for assembling, wiring, routing, connecting, and testing electrical components and subassemblies used in large-scale cooling systems for data center applications. Working from work instructions, visual aids, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams, the Electronic Technician works as part of a collaborative manufacturing team and ensures products are built safely, accurately, and in accordance with quality and customer specifications.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Work under direct supervision of the Production Supervisor, Line Manager, or other designated leadership.
  • Assemble electrical and electromechanical components, harnesses, control panels, and subassemblies according to documented work instructions and engineering specifications.
  • Route, terminate, connect, and secure wiring, cables, sensors, switches, motors, and other electrical components.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, visual aids, and assembly documentation.
  • Understand and utilize assembly documentation such as but not limited to the following; bills of materials (BOM), visuals, deviations, testing tools and procedures.
  • Understand, recognize and execute production requirements, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque tools, barcode scanners, and testing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with workmanship standards.
  • Identify and communicate defects, discrepancies, or process concerns to leadership.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and material traceability records.
  • Work as a team member to achieve Manufacturing department's process yield goals.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in electrical assembly, HVAC systems, control panel wiring, commercial or residential electrical installation, or other related electrical/mechanical trades preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, assembly drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Working knowledge of electrical components, wire routing, crimping, termination techniques, and use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work within manufacturing systems and software.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for up to 10-12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation; mechanical lifting devices and team lifts may be utilized as needed.
