GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Under general direction of the Utility Field Operations Superintendent, the AMI Crew Supervisor performs the more technically demanding installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of electronic metering equipment and performs other field-related metering services in accordance with departmental procedures, processes and established safety protocols. This position works in a supervisory position over all work of AMI Meter Technicians and is able to work independently providing skilled service/maintenance field metering services with minimal supervision.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of water meter maintenance.
- Knowledge of geography and street locations of the City and layout of meter locations.
- Knowledge of water billing practices.
- Knowledge and ability to utilize computer equipment to include AMI and GIS mapping software.
- Knowledge of basic RF propagation transmissions.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of methods, materials, and techniques used in repairing or replacing water meters, meter boxes, stops and connections.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to read and interpret water system maps.
- Ability use tools and equipment used in repairing or replacing water meters, stops, and connections at tradesman level.
- Ability to operate handheld devices and read and record data rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to make complex arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to train subordinate AMI Technicians on all AMI maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work courteously and effectively with co-workers and the general public and to communicate one-to-one.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
