Job Description

Join our team as a Safety Assistant where you will play a crucial role in enhancing the safety protocols and systems within our facility. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and integrate various safety data systems, ensuring that all safety documentation is accurate and up-to-date. You will also assist in training employees and maintaining essential safety equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Complete the upload of APIs into the 3E Generate program for integration with the 3E Protect SDS system and generate Nice Labels.

+ Conduct an inventory of CR&D laboratory, QC, and maintenance chemicals.

+ Upload over 500 Germantown SDS to 3E Protect, excluding CR&D, QC labs, and maintenance chemicals.

+ Correct several hundred SDS errors in the 3E Protect system.

+ Work on the chemical approval system in 3E Protect to ensure new SDS are captured for new chemical purchases.

+ Collaborate with procurement to develop a workflow for new chemical approval.

+ Assist with site-wide training on the new 3E Protect system after upload and maintenance are complete.

+ Maintain the 3E Protect system and act as the database administrator.

+ Perform annual respirator fit testing for over 100 people across multiple shifts, ensuring medical clearance and record-keeping in compliance with OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR ).

+ Manage gas detection and other instrument inventory, ensuring equipment is calibrated, operational, and repaired when necessary.

+ Assist in training employees on the correct use of gas detection equipment.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's Degree in Sciences (preferably Chemistry or Biochemistry).

+

Experience with computers, including navigating file folders and using software such as Master Control and current SDS software after training.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ BS in Chemistry preferred.

+ Open to candidates with at least 1 year of chemistry experience.

Work Environment

The Safety Assistant will work both in the EHS office and the production area. Hours are flexible with a start time between 7-9am and a typical schedule of 8-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves exposure to various departments within the facility, offering opportunities for growth and transition to different roles if openings exist.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
