Maintenance Welder
This role focuses on welding and fabricating ramps, decks, and loading systems for a variety of high-profile applications. You will work with aluminum materials using MIG and TIG processes, interpret blueprints, and contribute to production in a shop environment. The position is ideal for someone with solid welding experience who is eager to learn, take on specialized projects, and grow within a family-oriented operation.
Responsibilities- Weld and fabricate ramps, decks, and loading systems according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Perform MIG welding on aluminum components with consistent quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Utilize TIG welding techniques when required to complete fabrication and repair tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to plan and execute welding operations accurately.
- Operate production equipment and tools in a shop environment to support fabrication and assembly work.
- Use forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move and position materials and finished products safely.
- Collaborate with team members on specialized welding projects, including military-related work when assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to a safe, comfortable, and efficient shop environment.
- Follow all shop procedures and guidelines while demonstrating a strong willingness to learn new techniques and grow in the role.
- Proven experience with MIG welding, particularly on aluminum materials.
- Ability to perform TIG welding for fabrication and repair work.
- Competence in aluminum welding in a production or shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience working in a production setting with fabrication (FAB) processes.
- Capability to operate a forklift and handle materials safely.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the role.
Skills & Qualifications
- Formal schooling or training in welding or related technical fields.
- Experience with fabrication (FAB) in a shop or industrial environment.
- Exposure to military welding training or specialized welding projects.
- Comfort working with aluminum in various welding applications.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a production setting.

The work takes place in a clean, comfortable-temperature shop that can be a bit dusty due to fabrication activities. Standard first shift runs from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with additional hours available on Fridays. A weekend shift is available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a shift premium, and extra hours during the week are possible if desired.
The environment includes production equipment, aluminum welding stations, forklifts, and provided personal protective equipment such as welding helmets.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
