Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Department of Political Science at Gettysburg College invites applications for a tenure-track position in American Politics at the assistant professor rank beginning in August 2026. The department seeks candidates in the subfield of American Politics specializing in judicial politics, law, and/or courts. The successful candidate will teach an introductory course in American Politics and upper-level courses in their specialty.
The successful candidate should have a commitment to teaching and advising in the liberal arts tradition. The department has a strong history of pre-law advising at the College, a responsibility that is available to interested faculty with expertise in judicial politics. The teaching load for this position is the equivalent of five courses (typically 2-3 or 3-2) over the academic year.
Gettysburg College is a highly selective liberal arts college located within 90 minutes of the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Established in 1832, the College has a rich history and is situated on a 220-acre campus with an enrollment of over 2,200 students.
