As a key member of the Superintendent’s leadership team, the Assistant Superintendent will play a vital role in advancing district goals related to teaching and learning, personnel management, instructional leadership, and organizational excellence. This leader will work collaboratively with campus and district administrators to ensure high-quality educational opportunities for every student while supporting and developing exceptional staff across the district.

Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight for curriculum development, instructional programs, assessment, accountability, and professional learning across the district.
- Coordinate and support district-wide instructional initiatives designed to improve student achievement and educator effectiveness.
- Oversee the district’s human resources functions, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employee relations, certification compliance, and personnel management.
- Support principals and instructional leaders in implementing effective instructional practices and data-driven decision-making.
- Monitor district academic performance and ensure compliance with state and federal accountability requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing district improvement plans and strategic initiatives.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, professionalism, and continuous improvement throughout the district.
- Maintain positive communication and strong working relationships with students, staff, parents, community members, and the Board of Trustees.
- Coordinate staff development programs and leadership growth opportunities for employees at all levels.
- Ensure district policies, procedures, and practices are implemented with fidelity and consistency.
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or related field
- Valid Texas Superintendent Certification
- Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T‑TESS) appraiser
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
- Minimum of three years of successful campus or district-level leadership experience
- Experience in curriculum and instruction leadership
- Experience in human resources administration
- Experience with district-level planning, accountability, and personnel management
- Expertise in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Texas education law, accountability systems, and personnel practices
- Ability to analyze and utilize data to drive instructional and organizational decisions
- Skilled in staff recruitment, development, evaluation, and retention
