About the role The Weitz Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team in Gig Harbor, Washington. This position is pivotal in overseeing complex construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. • Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and address any issues that may arise.
• Implement and uphold safety standards on all job sites, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports and financial forecasts.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster repeat business and referrals.
• Mentor and train junior project managers and team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Utilize project management software and tools to track project milestones and deliverables effectively.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
• Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and stored appropriately for future reference.
• Participate in post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

• A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is required.
• At least 7 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar tools).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial management in construction projects.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Washington State.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse teams and clients.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a construction firm.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in various project management tools and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, project scheduling applications, and construction management platforms. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are essential. Familiarity with financial management tools and budgeting software will also be beneficial.
