Position SummarySaint Nicholas Catholic School in Gig Harbor seeks a detail-oriented and committed part‑time 5th Grade Math Teacher and K‑8 Tutor for the 2025‑26 school year. The school is a Pre‑School through 8th grade Catholic school and partners with the St. Nicholas Parish community.

Pay: starts at $26,000; salary determined by internal equity, market data, applicant's skills, experience, degrees, and certifications.
Position Purpose- To support students in developing strong foundational and advanced 5th‑grade math skills.
- To foster confidence, curiosity, and perseverance in mathematical thinking.
- To provide individualized and small‑group instruction that supports diverse learning needs.
- To help students recognize the beauty, order, and logic of mathematics as part of God's creation.
- Math instruction — Provide clear, structured, and engaging 5th‑grade math lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Tutoring support — One‑on‑one tutoring to reinforce concepts and address learning gaps.
- Assessment practices — Evaluate and report each student's mathematical growth, understanding, and skill development.
- Lesson planning — Prepare intentional, well‑sequenced lessons and practice materials.
- Collaboration — Work with classroom teachers to support student progress and align instructional goals.
- Communication — Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Classroom management — Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Valid Washington State Teacher Certification
- Bachelor's Degree in Education with a major or minor in Mathematics or a related field
