The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Before and After School Lead Teacher to join our team. The YMCA focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

As the Before and After Lead Teacher, you will support the YMCA Child Care Program year-round to serve our community with a variety of activity options to explore and develop interests and talents of the youth with a focus on safety, health, social growth, and academic enhancement for children to have fun and thrive in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct parent conferences, and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
• Work closely with the program director and branch leadership team to advocate for team needs and collaborate on partnership opportunities when appropriate.
• Provide feedback and deliver on the onboarding of new site staff; implement training guidelines, including shadowing and coaching new staff during the program.
• Ensure the program maintains conformance with all YMCA policies and procedures and the Washington Administrative Code.
• Promote a positive environment that fosters fun, safety, and our YMCA values which includes implementation of proximity praise, specific action compliments, and our 8 Points of Leadership.
• Attend and participates in family nights and program activities.

Wage: $21.35 to $26.89 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours:

Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Shift: Before school 6:00 am - 9:00 am and after school 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm (Hours vary depending on school district) Lead Teachers work some hours outside of the posted schedule above. (this is a year-round position, including Summer months).
