The Senior Bridge Project Manager will work within HDR’s Transportation Business Group to design and manage bridge projects that support economic vitality, public safety, and quality of life.
Responsibilities- Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single‑discipline engineering projects or large, routine projects.
- Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your staff.
- Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance planning team throughout entire project’s development.
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
- Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate or adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed‑to schedule.
- Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice.
- Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure completion of documents on schedule.
- Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable‑stayed), box culvert, and
- interchange design for highway and railway projects.
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
- Mentor younger staff and support continued development.
- Structural Engineer in the State of Washington (or able to achieve reciprocity within 6 months).
- 20+ years of bridge design experience.
- Familiarity with scheduling software such as MS Project.
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: PGSuper, SAP
2000, CSiBridge, LARSA 4D, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-Multi Pier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, Midas Civil, MDX, ADINA, RM Bridge, sp Column, or LUSAS.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 10 years related experience.
- A minimum 5 years project management experience.
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example:
Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. - MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus).
- Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
