At HDR, employee‑owned success shapes the future of modern life. As part of our Power sector, the Senior Environmental Planner will help shape how electricity is generated, transmitted, and delivered as global energy demands grow.
Responsibilities- Plan and direct medium‑to‑large‑size planning and environmental compliance projects
- Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods
- Prepare, plan, and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents
- Direct work of others in completion of required studies, documents and reports
- Demonstrate extensive public participation, agency coordination, planning and programming experience
- Mentor junior planning staff
- Perform other duties as needed
- AICP certification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- A minimum of 10 years technical and/or field experience in complex environmental planning projects
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Self‑starter with excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem‑solving and research abilities
- Technical and/or field experience dealing with environmental impact issues, associated permit processes and documentation preparation/review

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.)

- {Spokane, WA}: $98,553- $140,790
- {Gig Harbor, WA}: $114,114- $163,020
- {Olympia, WA}: $103,740- $148,200
