Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join an excellent company in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US GAAP, experience with monthly consolidations, and expertise in managing weekly cash flows. The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the company’s overall financial health.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Lead the monthly consolidation process for multiple entities.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances to ensure accurate financial consolidation.
- Prepare and post consolidation journal entries.
- Manage and monitor weekly cash flow, including forecasting and reporting.
- Work with various departments to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
- Analyze and report on variances between actual and forecasted cash flows.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on US GAAP, including at least 3+ years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in financial consolidation for multiple entities.
- Proven experience in cash flow forecasting and management.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, or SAP) and Microsoft Excel. CUF software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of prevailing wage construction contracts is a plus.
- Construction experience is a plus.
