ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
- Manages day-to-day operation of the high school bookstore. Ensures proper pricing for all items sold in the bookstore.
- Maintains financial records for student clubs, activities, athletics, class fees, parking fees, and tax credit donations; enters, edits, posts and updates account information. Ensures all necessary documentation is submitted.
- Reviews and properly codes district revenues to the correct accounts; prepares receipts and deposits. Reviews and processes financial transactions for all athletics student clubs, activities, class fees, parking fees, and. Prepares and submits all required reports for these funds.
- Maintains complete and accurate accounting and finance files and record requirements.
- Assists in the training of staff and activity/club sponsors to ensure that cash collection and deposits are processed timely and recorded properly in accordance with the USFR.
- Prepares cash boxes and provides instruction on ticket sales for athletic events. Processes, reconciles, and prepares gate money for deposit.
- Checks out textbooks at beginning of year to students and staff. Checks in textbooks at end of year. Prepares statements for the collection of outstanding fees or books.
- Supervises the collection and balancing of point of sale receipts from student bookstore.
- Checks shipping invoices and merchandise received to verify correct quantity, description and/or price.
- Orders bookstore texts, supplies and other items by preparing internal purchase requisitions and inputs data in the computerized textbook system.
- Due to the nature of this position, and access to confidential information, it is absolutely mandatory that this position safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of the information stored and discussed in the Bookstore, School and Administrative offices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree in accounting, computer information systems or marketing from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Three years of progressively responsible cash handling and accounting experience, preferably in a School District or public sector entity. Knowledge and/or experience in banking preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize tasks, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities. General knowledge of payment systems. Willingness and ability to learn new software. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word). Proficiency with 10 key.
- Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Frequent communication with parents, students, and staff including the exchange of accurate information.
- Occasionally move about the inside of the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time either standing or sitting.
- Often raising objects from a lower to higher position, higher to lower position, or horizontally weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally required to position body by bending body downward and forward by waist.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities including preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
Full-Time Position – 12 Month Classified Hourly Monday - Friday 8 hours a day
SALARY CLASSIFICATIONAppropriate salary placement on the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule
EVALUATIONPerformance of this job will be evaluated by the Site Administrator and the Business Manager according to district policy.
