A global aerospace and defense organization is seeking a Director of Growth & Strategy to support its Space Division. This role will partner with senior leadership to shape division strategy, drive market expansion, and guide long-term investment priorities across a growing portfolio.
The Director of Growth & Strategy will lead division-level strategic planning, market analysis, and portfolio development. This leader will partner closely with Business Units, Engineering, Program Management, Sales, and Finance to align priorities, evaluate investment opportunities, and position the division for sustained growth. The role will influence executive decision-making, support long-range planning, and guide expansion into emerging markets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading division-level strategic planning and long-range growth initiatives
- Developing market insights, competitive intelligence, and portfolio strategies
- Partnering cross-functionally with Business Units, Engineering, Finance, and Sales
- Guiding investment prioritization, including capability development and opportunity shaping
- Supporting executive leadership with strategic presentations and decision frameworks
- Monitoring market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies
- Leading scenario planning, trade studies, and growth opportunity assessments
- Tracking strategic performance metrics including pipeline health and growth targets
- Representing the organization with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
Skills and requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, business development, market analysis, or related leadership roles
- Background in aerospace, defense, or space industry preferred
- Strong cross-functional leadership and executive influence skills
- Experience with portfolio planning, forecasting, and investment prioritization
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Ability to travel approximately 30–50%
Salary: $275,000 – $325,000 base salary plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility. Comprehensive benefits package included.
