An Electrical Superintendent is a critical member of the project execution team, overseeing all craft employees, ensuring schedule and budget adherence, maintaining construction schedules, procuring materials, enforcing safety and compliance, and coordinating field communication with project stakeholders.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Oversee management of all project craft employees.
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure adherence to the project schedule and budget.
- Maintain the electrical construction schedule, training foremen with a 3‑week look‑ahead schedule.
- Oversee procuring materials and equipment necessary for the project.
- Ensure all work meets required standards, assist in implementing QA/QC programs.
- Promote and enforce safety standards, conduct safety audits and training, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Report any violations of policies, procedures, or safety guidelines promptly.
- Oversee field communication between project stakeholders, attend meetings, and keep all parties informed of project progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 8+ years of experience in the electrical trade with at least 3 years in data center construction.
- Experience managing projects with multiple crews of at least 150 craft employees.
- Proficiency interpreting electrical drawings, submittals, specifications, and BIM detailing.
- Strong organizational ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and industry standards.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions most of the time.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical trades, specifically in data center construction.
- Develop construction schedules for the overall project and continually monitor and adjust as needed.
- Ability to contribute to the installation or direct others through the installation and troubleshooting process.
- Ability to coordinate manpower needs.
- Ability to coordinate or place material orders after a competition price comparison has been completed.
- Maintain compliance with company, state, and OSHA safety standards.
- Indoor office setting with controlled temperature.
- Potential visits to outdoor industrial sites with exposure to weather extremes.
- Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors.
- Travel requirements: up to 10% of time.
