CAD/CAM Designer

Purpose Of Position:
Utilizes designated software technology to fabricate dental prosthesis according to doctors’ prescription.

To fulfill this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

• Designs, fabricates, and repairs dental prosthesis/dental appliances using designated software technology.
• Reads and understands prescription; constructs prostheses by following doctors’ orders and instructions.
• Evaluates and modifies designs to ensure correct crown placement and contact/occlusion parameters are within specification.
• Performs undercut curtain check and removal.
• Performs crown seating simulation and adjusts design as needed.
• Follows quality standard protocols.
• Tests software and hardware; validates or calibrates system or equipment as needed.
• Assists in various tasks relating to the design process.
• Uploads files as required.
• Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior dental work experience or background, a plus.
• Previous experience working in positions that require hand and finger dexterity, a plus.

• Virtual Plaster Experience (VPX) certification, preferred.

• Proficient English verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess effective oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel in a professional and effective manner.
• Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and applicable technical information.
• Ability to create and compose written materials with proper English grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate the contextual meaning of numerical data.
• Ability to communicate clearly with employees, management, and team members.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural business environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively using chat and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams.

• Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Company digital design parameters and quality standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge of digital dental production.
• Ability to apply technical and dental knowledge to resolve issues.
• Possess a willingness to learn.
• Ability to receive and incorporate feedback.
• Ability to be reliable, dependable, and adaptable.
• Ability to manage priorities appropriately.
• Must possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be able to quickly learn new skills as work allows for or requires.
• Extensive knowledge of quality control standards, practices, and applicable techniques.
• Strong knowledge of standard operational concepts of computer aided manufacturing.
• Proficient knowledge of general office procedures.
• Ability to maintain consistent and punctual attendance, including the ability to work outside of scheduled work shift when necessary.
• Ability to fabricate dental prosthetics accurately and on time according to doctor’s request.
