Coordinator - PreK-12 Advanced Learning
Purpose Statement
To provide leadership, coaching and professional development to support and strengthen the implementation of gifted and advanced
learning in GPS throughout levels Pre Kindergarten through twelfth grades.
Essential Functions
* Support vision for GPS gifted services and advanced programs that includes a continuum of services.
* Oversee the planning and implementation of instructional services for gifted and advanced programming, ensuring compliance with State and Federal Regulations.
* Provide guidance and assistance in the implementation of gifted and advanced programming on campuses.
* Create and facilitate professional development for teachers to provide pedagogy through depth and complexity.
* Develop and manage walk-through instruments to support site and district leadership in gathering and analyzing data on effective strategies that impact student outcomes.
* Evaluate curricular needs for gifted and advanced programs to support consistency across grade levels and campuses.
* Support gifted and advanced teachers on the classroom level.
* Oversee additional District budget associated with gifted services and advanced learning programs.
* Effectively communicate with gifted families regarding notification and communication as required by the State.
* Develop and engage families in collaboration with leadership and teachers, specifically targeted to families of gifted and advanced students.
* Collect and maintain records and reports as necessary.
* Perform other related tasks as assigned.
* Communicates the gifted and advanced program vision, mission and goals to all stakeholders.
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the gifted and advanced programs.
* Coordinates for alignment of gifted and advanced learning within the district and CIA strategic plans.
* Coordinates the gathering, selecting and analysis of data within the gifted and advanced programs.

Learning Development
- Level E Knowledge in a recognized professional field or technological discipline sufficient to command various principles, facts, and practical applications. Learning development is obtained by the completion of a college curriculum resulting in a bachelor's degree in a specialized field; advanced mathematics, very advanced language development, proficient understanding of practical systems.
Problem Solving - Level 3 Work situations are of sufficient scope and variety that significant interpretation and evaluation is required to successfully recognize and define problems. Highly technical judgments and/or constructive thinking involved. Alternative solutions must be considered and short-term action plans must be developed and sequenced.
Physical Requirements
Physical Skill - Level A Basic level of learned physical skill is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
Physical Effort - Level 1 Minimal physical exertion is required. Most job time is spent sitting with occasional walking. Occasional lifting, guiding, and carrying of lightweight materials or equipment.
