Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
- Supervise students on the playground and in the cafeteria.
- Set up cafeteria, wipe tables, and clean up spills on tables and floors.
- Supervise students in the lunch line.
- May supervise students in lunch detention.
- Assist students during lunch and help direct students to playground after lunch period.
- Pick up trash from tables and off floor.
- Wipe tables and seats between lunch periods.
- Sweep under tables as needed.
- Cleans, folds up, and pushes tables to one side of the room to prepare cafeteria floor for cleaning.
- Monitor students who go to the restroom.
- May assist with emptying trash cans and replacing trash can liners.
- Safeguard and maintain confidentiality of information stored and discussed in the school.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Capable of overseeing students in groups.
- Effective communicator with the ability to relate to and build positive rapport with students, staff and teachers and work cooperatively.
- Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

- Frequent communication with parents, students, and staff including the exchange of accurate information.
- Frequent interaction with students by bending body downward and forward, requiring full use of lower extremities and back muscles, bending legs at knee to come to rest on knees, or sitting on the floor requiring to resume an upright position.
- Moving about on foot and remaining on one's feet in an upright position while supervising student(s).
- Raising or lowering an object from one level ranging from 25-50 lbs.
- Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force or towards the force.
- Ascending and descending small ladder with agility.
- Required to have visual acuity to perform activities with student(s).
Part‑Time Position – 10 months Monday‑Friday, 15 hours per week.
Salary ClassificationAppropriate salary placement on the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.
EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated by Site Administrator and according to District Policy.
