• Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
• Place school crosswalk signs thirty minutes prior to school opening and remove signs not later than thirty minutes after school ends.
• Direct actions of children and traffic at designated school access street crossings to ensure student safety as students are going to or leaving school.
• May escort children across street at school crosswalks.
• Monitor student use of lined crosswalks.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and report infractions to the school principal.
• Use hand held stop sign in association with work assignment.
• Due to the potential for access to confidential student information, it is absolutely mandatory that this position safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of the information stored and discussed in the school.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Education preferred.
• Must have excellent communication skills and ability to build positive rapport with students and parents.
• Good physical condition with an emphasis on sight and hearing; exposure to the elements during assignment.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Card.

• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions with environmental noise.
• Constantly moving on streets and sidewalks.
• Frequent use of stop sign, requiring holding and extending arm to alert traffic of students in crosswalk.
• Frequent communication with parents, students, and staff to maintain safety.
• Raising and lowering objects from one level up to 25 lbs.
• Clarity of vision at close range and long range of 20 feet or more while observing an area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.

Part-Time Position - 10 months Monday - Friday.

Appropriate salary placement on the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.

Performance of this job will be evaluated by Site Administrator and according to District Policy.

The work environment is usually moderate noise level. HUSD participates in the Arizona State Retirement System;

Part-Time

$15.68 to $18.21 per hour. Please refer to the Salary Schedule.
